Our Story
I am Ready to Grow is a trauma-informed community initiative dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual abuse and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) through prevention education and community workshops. We empower individuals in schools and universities offering prevention education around consent, recognizing red flags, and direct resources to community programs that guide survivors through all stages of safety, reporting, and healing. Along with prevention education, we offer direct personalized care through healing workshops within domestic violence shelters that encourage self-reflection, rebuild self-worth, provide resources for financial independence, and encourage healing within the mind, body and spirit. What started as a small jewelry business that donated proceeds to cover therapy costs turned into a true mission of advocacy behind the art. The mission of I am Ready to Grow is to empower survivors of abuse by providing compassionate and accessible tools to heal and grow. The website offers a pathway to mental health resources for conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD with a dedicated resource page featuring online abuse assessment tests. The website also facilitates direct donations to support the mission. The workshops include art therapy classes such as making jewelry, vision board projects, and somatic healing classes for mind-body connection spirituality. The jewelry is still being made, and each hand crafted and unique design is available for purchase. The jewelry has been a symbol of hope, beauty, and resilience as it was the foundation of making this mission possible. Our mission is to break the cycles of trauma, shift harmful cultural norms, and create a community where everyone feels ready to grow.
Meet The Artist
Katelyn Gallun, the Founder and Executive Director of I am Ready to Grow, is a self-taught artist and survivor of abuse who transformed her pain into purpose. After over a decade of therapy, Katelyn emerged with a mission to make healing accessible for others.
She began with a simple yet powerful idea: crafting and selling jewelry to fund therapy for herself and others unable to afford consistent psychotherapy. The vision became a reality as the mission bloomed into jewelry-making workshops at the domestic violence shelters, vision board activities, and trauma healing exercises.
Currently pursuing a Master’s in Behavioral Health, Katelyn is working to establish IamReadytoGrow.org as a nonprofit organization. Her vision is to partner with schools and shelters within the communities to raise awareness about the signs of abuse and provide critical resources to survivors.
If you or someone you know has experienced abuse, know that you are not alone. IamReadytoGorw.org is here to support your journey toward healing and empowerment. You deserve to heal and live a life of profound purpose and fulfillment.
